recommending chainsaw man to people like yeah it’s this story about a boy who has a chainsaw in his head. it’s a harrowing exploration of how late stage capitalism is a breeding ground for extreme isolation that leads us to dive headfirst into unhealthy and imbalanced attachments when they are presented to us as an alternative to crippling loneliness. it’s about finding genuine love and care in those same unhealthy dynamics and it’s about still cherishing your abusers after all they’ve done to you and it’s about cannibalism as love and men who are dogs and history repeating itself in an endless cycle of violence and vengeance that is still worth going through if it gives us the possibility to love and be loved. haha look vomit kiss

im really stoned and sleep deprived and im thinking about some of the “about” pages ive seen from young tumblr users and im like. who tf is out here telling 14 year old kids that they gotta put shit like a detailed description of all of their potential social privileges next to a summary of their medical history on public display. Who told them to do that. i don’t wanna see these poor kids pinning detailed lists of their traumas next to words like “thin passing” to the top of their blogs so that every unknown passing stranger can immediately see it. kids whoever is telling u that is wrong ok. im in my mid 20s and I don’t even put my real name on most things online. ur allowed to just be on here and have fun. also don’t blindly trust strangers ok. pls be safe. go look at cat memes

people on here are always saying “we NEED a story where the art of storytelling is abandoned” like ugh literary devices are soo annoying like that wouldn’t happen in real life that only happened to further the story (why is there story in my story) why would orpheus turn around when he was explicitly told not to why would icarus fly so close to the sun romeo&juliet catcher in the rye why are they so earnest why pour your heart and soul into anything why bother why cant all art be quippy logical monotony like my marvel movies there’s a void in my heart bc i refused to fill it and the curtains were blue
“i hate poetry its so pretentious” but then you reblog a quote or a throwaway line and say “why does this go so hard” you are desperate for poetry you are starved for it and u dont even realise you’re hungry

“Chuuya Nakahara does not dream.
His awakening was similar to muddy bubbles rising to the surface.
[…]
Chuuya sat up. He was sweating a little around his chest, a reminder of some sort of violent emotion that had swirled around inside of him like a whirlpool in the sea. But what that emotion was, he couldn’t remember.
That always seemed to be the case, these days.”
